This week in Katteni Kaizo, Kaizo faces down a shitty American remake Akira, a certain host club’s number one host. He seems to hold a grudge against Kaizo, the club’s former number two guy, because of his failure to win convincingly in a contest they once had. As always, it’s Kaizo’s classmates that retribution falls upon, not Kaizo himself…

Retribution Day (Katteni Kaizo 49)

The Japanese find balance to their holidays. For every Sports Day, there’s a Culture Day. For every boys’ holiday, there’s a girls’ holiday. So it stands to reason that for April Fools’ Day, there’s a day for those who have been pranked to take vengeance. As it turns out, Kaizo’s pulled a lot of pranks, and when a former student from the Genius Cram School shows up, it makes life unpleasant for everyone around him.

Suimasen, it’s been a long time since our last KK release. Staff have been busy with other things, but fortunately we had a volunteer show up to help us out. I’d like to welcome nomit to the fold!

Some more Katteni Kaizo is on the way, as are some chapters of SZS, and further out on the horizon, RootP and Azazel-san.

An Unconventional Approach (KK OVA Ep. 4)

Moar like Death Note, amirite

OK, 2nd try at this after WordPress ate a half-hour of work. I can’t even begin to express the amazing level of fail and aggravation that went into every moment of subbing this episode. Creating fansubs is basically the equivalent of taking the cast of Lord of the Flies, handing out plutonium and having them build a nuclear reactor, only with less fun and more vomiting. But the high pay and unending fame and adulation from the fans make it all worthwhile.

So, this episode has epic Chitan in full trainfaniac mode, moar epic Suzu trollan, and the appearance of a sort of HHNNNG dat fang character from Osaka. In any event, this concludes Vol. 2 of the KK OVAs. As for Vol. 3 expect truly epic delays if I have to TL it as well, so someone capture a wild translator for us before November…

Trials of Patience (KK OVA Ep. 3)

It’s not her inquisitive spirit you have to fear…

So…yeah. Translator had this done like 3 weeks ago, and then :stuff: happened. Mostly related to the fact that finding staff for anything that doesn’t have giant robots, cute girls, or tits is pretty difficult in the fansubban biz. Yes, both SZS and KK have all three, but they also have irony, which destroys its appeal for 90% of the slave labor pool available for this industry. Anyway, I have now been forced to learn how to use the programs beginning with ‘A’, so lo, Katte ni Kaizō OVA 3. Umin has also seen fit to provide German subtitles, so we will be supplying a DE track with these henceforth, and you even get chapters now. What decadence!

Just the 720p to start, if we get a clean encode off BD raws in the next week or so we’ll re-release this along with a 1080p otherwise I’ll mux with the best available. OVA 4 is translated and in the queue, should also be out within the week.

Somewhat long time no see, but we managed to release another chapter of Katte ni Kaizou after lots and lots of half-body bathing, hell yeah!

This time, Kaizou’s old Genius Cram School folks are aiming at him – much to Kaizou’s delight actually.

In other news, we are expecting the second Katte ni Kaizou OVA to reach us soon – although there is a certain still not really confirmed rumor that its release has been postponed to August 10.
So please stay tuned, you may get to see some sub around here.

By the way, even though I shall soon take my leave for Japan, there still are around 20 scripts for KK chapters in the pipe or to reach the pipe soon, so please expect some of them to come. Must. Keep. These. Guys. Busy.
